WPBC Sunday Setlists - July 26, 200

Hey gang,

My personal SetList this week consisted of Doerksen's "Creation Calls". I was on my last day of vacation at the cottage and was out on a perfectly calm lake, with a cloudless blue sky. "How can I say there is no God, when all around creation calls?"

Here's the PlanningCenterOnline look at what happened at Westhill this morning.

Sunday Setlists - July 19, 2009
Westhill Sunday Setlists is part of the “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival at FredMcKinnon.Com.

"God Is Big Enough!"

That was the title of David's message today as he continued in his series "The Psalms of Life". Today's message focused on Psalm 95, with a great challenge to give our worries to God. He is big enough to handle them!

During the summer, we give the team a bit of a break and go with an extended rehearsal Sunday morning with no practice on Thursday evenings. What's really great is that we will use songs that the band and vocals are really comfortable with. And by no coinicidence, the congregation is familiar with them as well. We generally try to incorporate one hymn into our congregational singing, but this was one of those weeks, were try as I might, I couldn't seem to find one that fits in.

It was a great morning of celebration and worship!

Sunday Setlists - July 12, 2009

A great summer Sunday at Westhill.

So our start was a bit shakey. I led from piano this week, and forgot to check the sequence of the verses for the great old hymn "O For A Thousand Tongues". I was singing off the lead sheet, the worship team off the video monitors. When I realized that I was signing different words from what was on screen, I switched to the on-screen words, just as the projectionist switched to what I was singing!

With my brain spasm out of the way, the rest of the morning was great.

Worship Set
  • Agnus Dei (G) - This was a great response to the Invocation and Lord's Prayer
  • How Great Is Our God (G) - Flowed right out of Agnus Dei ...
  • Holy Is the Lord (G) - as the chords of How Great ... faded, we started with a strong intro chord pattern
Offering
  • He Knows My Name (E) - so this was really a God moment. I had originally picked out "I Give You My Heart", but printed out "He Knows My Name". What made this special, is that our Senior Pastor had been out of town until Friday so we didn't really have a chance to collaborate on themes. He spoke from Psalm 43, where David feels very low and abandoned by God. "He Knows My Name" was a perfect lead into the message.
Closing
  • Lord Reign In Me (C) - The Holy Spirit was sure at work this morning. I chose this song as I drove to church this morning. Again, what an amazing fit to Psalm 43! "Over all my dreams, in my darkest hour ... Lord Reign in Me!"
Sure is a great feeling to know that God is part of the team, even we we are trying to do it all by ourselves! I think that there is a message there!

Have a great week ... Be Blessed!
